Weekly Workouts – Half Marathon Week 1!

Monday:  Cardio Interval

Elliptical warm up (15 min), treadmill interval (5 min w/u, 0:45 intervals for 15 min, 2 min walking uphill, 1 mile at 6.5mph), Row 1 mile

Tuesday: Tempo – 3×1 mile at 8:40ish pace

Thursday: Speed – 5 miles

Yasso’s return!!  Solid speed work out, great way to rack up the mileage for me.  See my description of this killer workout here 😉  I start off a little slower, then finished out at 8.3 on my last 800.  The current goal is mid to low 7:00 pace, which I hit pretty well, but it was really tough because it’s been a while since I’ve done a straight speed workout.  “Fun” though!

Friday: Off

Saturday: LSD – 6.5 miles, 59:56

Pretty solid, other than some stomach issues, it wasn’t so bad!  I went faster than my typical slow pace, because as the mileage creeps up, I have to make sure I don’t go as slow on the shorter stuff.

Sunday: Warrior Dash!  3 miles through the mud with all kinds of obstacles thrown in.  Check them out here!

They included plenty of mud puddles and pits, fallen trees, barbed wire, rope climbs, ladders, cargo nets, and much more.  It was SO much fun/completely disgusting.  More to come on this in a future post 🙂
